A brand new, temporary exhibition opens Friday, February 9 in downtown Jackson at the beloved Havner’s Frame Shop, 105 North Church Street.
Jackson artist Samantha Wood will be in attendance with her new contemporary painting collection of goddesses. This vibrant collection of work explores expectations placed on women by society, while also celebrating their unique attributes, personalities, and interests.
This work is a representation of the women in our lives – our mothers, friends, teachers, aunts, mentors, and grandmothers. Visitors will be able to view Wood’s newest paintings alongside other works of hers.
Samantha Wood is an active member in the Jackson art community. Working from her home studio in Jackson – her work is inspired by nature and nostalgia.

Over the past couple of years, she has had several solo exhibits. Her work has been published in multiple magazines, and she was the recipient of a large arts grant, and she has also created commissioned art for a well-known U.S. brand.
Make plans to attend and view the new collection in person on Friday, February 9.
The opening will be held from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., at Havner’s Frame Shop in downtown Jackson. Admission to the exhibit is free.
