JACKSON, Tennessee – Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tenn., spread holiday cheer around West Tennessee with their seventh annual “From Leaders with Love” project.
According to a press release from Maddie Steele – marketing & public relations specialist – beginning December 1, each branch and department of Leaders adopted a goodwill project in the community.
Projects included gift baskets for residents of The Cades Center, taking lunch to emergency room workers, giving Christmas presents to homeless children in Jackson, donating blood to LIFELINE Blood Services, and many more. Throughout December, Leaders carried out fourteen projects and gave approximately $8,500 towards “From Leaders with Love” events.
“As a credit union, our mission is to power the passion of our members and make lives better, and I think that passion comes from our financial champions here,” President and CEO Todd Swims said. “I love the fact that they get to choose their own projects and help people they’re passionate about in the community because that’s really who we are at our core.
Leaders challenged their staff to select projects that were close to their hearts. Each project was funded by Leaders because they are passionate about being community minded and helping organizations that are transforming the community every day. Leaders released a compilation video of the projects on their YouTube channel on Friday, December 15. Watch our full Leaders with Love 2023 video on YouTube.
“You don’t have to have a membership with Leaders to be served by Leaders,” Brenna Whitman, Champion Development Manager, said. “This is why we do this, to really help others and to serve and to remind ourselves that we are so lucky to be a part of this community.”
