Ridgedale Drive burglary suspect dies in automobile accident

From the Jackson Police Department –

According to the Jackson Police Department, around 1:46 p.m., officers were sent to the 300 block of Ridgedale over a person trying to enter the home.

The department says that officers saw the burglary suspect’s vehicle leaving the area at a high speed, and was last seen going north along Campbell Street.

Officers caught up and found that the suspect’s vehicle and another vehicle that was traveling south along Campbell had crashed just south of Interstate 40.

The passengers of the southbound vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital, JPD says.

Jackson police say that the driver of the attempted burglary suspect vehicle was found dead despite life-saving measures provided by first responders.

JPD officials say the incident was initially called in as a home invasion, expecting hostages. JPD says there were no hostages and the house was cleared without incident.

Jackson police say this is an on-going investigation and that further information will be released.
