2 dead following plane crash near Union City

UNION CITY, Tenn. — According to the Obion County Sheriff’s Department, two people are dead after their plane crashed while practicing aerobatic maneuvers near Everett-Stewart Regional Airport near Union City, Wednesday.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., Wednesday, authorities found two people dead inside the Xtremeair XA42 aerobatics plane, after it nose-dived into a nearby solar farm while practicing maneuvers.

The victims have not been identified, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the cause of the crash.
