From the Jackson Police Department –

On November 8, 2023, at approximately 12:12 p.m., officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at the Jackson Hotel and Convention Center located at 1963 U.S. Highway 45 Bypass.

Upon arrival, they discovered that an individual had barricaded himself inside one of the hotel rooms.

For public safety, the hotel was immediately evacuated. The Hostage Negotiation team, S.W.A.T. Team, and Criminal Investigation units were activated to resolve the incident. Jackson Fire and Emergency Medical Service personnel were on the scene.

After several hours of negotiations, the suspect was safely apprehended by negotiators without any incident.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Felony Domestic Assault.

According to a statement from the JPD, “The safety of the public is of utmost importance to the Jackson Police Department as we are dedicated to protecting and serving our community.”
