The Area Relief Ministries will host its annual Salt & Light Banquet featuring the Jackson Symphony at the Carl Perkins Civic Center on Thurs., Sept. 14. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. and the concert beginning at 7 p.m.
ARM and The Jackson Symphony have partnered for a second year to bring a program full of heart-stirring music from local artists. This year will feature special performances including recording artist LOLO, Memphis vocalist Candice Goff, gospel artist Vonda Peet and mass choirs from Lane College, Union University and the Hub City Choir.
“We are very excited to work with The Jackson Symphony again this year,” ARM Executive Director Mike Roby said. “Last year’s performance was so well received that we decided to build on what we started by continuing to celebrate local talent and voices.”
Symphony Conductor Peter Shannon said last year’s feedback was tremendous.
“Working with Mike Roby and Area Relief Ministries is a pure joy, and we are thrilled to have been invited back to help generate funds for their incredible work,” said Shannon.
Tickets for the entire evening (dinner included) are $125. Tables can be purchased for $1,000.
Balcony seats for the concert are $25 at the Civic Center Box Office or on Eventbrite.
The event will benefit Area Relief Ministries-Room in the Inn, which partners with local churches and businesses to provide housing and meals each night to the homeless in Jackson, Tennessee.
ARM seeks to help the homeless make life changes with job training, job placement and permanent housing. It also provides emergency services for low-income members of the
community.
This year marks ARM’s 46th year of serving the community.
