Ashanie Kennedy, of the Union men’s soccer team, has received the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week Award for the week ending on Sept. 3rd. This is the first GSC weekly award for the Bulldog’s men’s soccer.
Kennedy, a 5-foot-7 freshman forward, logged 126 minutes on the field this week for the Bulldogs. During those minutes he managed to get five shots off with three of them being on target.Â
In Union’s first victory of the 2023 season, Kennedy applied constant pressure on the attack which led to the first career goal for the freshman out of Tivoli Gardens, Jamaica.
Union men’s soccer will hit the road this week to take on Nashville to take on Trevecca Nazarene University (Wed., Sept. 6 )and Missouri S&T (Sun., Sept. 10). The Bulldogs will be back at home Sept. 16 in their first conference matchup versus Auburn Montgomery.
