Chuck Stokes, South Side High School senior running back, named 101.5 FM/WNWS.com Game MVP

South Side High School running back Chuck Stokes was named the week three WNWS 101.5 News/Talk Game MVP after helping lead the Hawks to a 36-0 win over Liberty Tech last Thursday.

The senior had one rushing touchdown and two receiving touchdowns, ending the night with 50 rushing yards and 111 receiving yards.

“The start of the game was sluggish,” said Stokes. “After halftime, Coach (Narcisse) motivated us and we came together and fought as one.”

Motivating is exactly what the team needed to score four consecutive possessions and put the game to bed.

Coach Narcisse commends Stokes for his effort on and off the field and comments that he is someone the team consistently tries to give the ball to.

“Chuck has been a guy that puts it in the end zone for us every week,” said Narcisse. “He’s been a continuous leader and performer and someone who wants the ball. Our offensive line and his other counterparts give him that opportunity by blocking.”

South Side enjoyed their win against the inner city rival, but has their sights set forward for the game against Crockett County on Friday.

“We definitely have to start the game the way that we started the second half last week,” said Narcisse. “Every game is crucial.”
