Union Men’s soccer signings
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University men’s soccer team announced its signing class for the 2023-24 season. Will Weingart (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), Pierre Van Tilburg (Oirschot, Netherlands), Niklas Bindewald (Nidderau, Germany), Ashanie Kennedy (Tivoli Gardens, Jamaica), Tucker Cowles (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), Jamie Chamberlain (Herne Bay, England), Thad McCanse (Palm Harbor, Fla.), Zeph Key (Pike Road, Ala.), James Baker (San Antonio, Texas), and Brody Thompson (Nashville, Tenn.) will join Union this fall.
Union Men’s Soccer excited for 2023 season
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University Men’s soccer team is excited as they get ready for the 2023 season. Last year, the Bulldogs posted a 4-11-1 overall record and a 1-9-1 conference record. After this season, the team has brought in 10 newcomers to boost the squad and return to winning ways. Union head coach Steven Cox is entering his seventh season as head coach of the Bulldogs. He is joined on the bench by first-year assistant coach Christian Young. The Bulldog’s season will begin with two away exhibition matches against Bethel University and University of Missouri – St. Louis. Union then plays two home preseason matches against Ouachita Baptist and Harding University on August 31 and September 2. These games are followed by two away preseason games at Trevecca Nazarene and Missouri S&T. The Bulldog’s open the Gulf South Conference with home games against Auburn Montgomery and Delta State on September 16 and 22.
Union University women’s soccer enthusiastic about the 2023 season with 12 incoming freshmen and 18 returners
JACKSON, Tenn. – After going 4-11-1 overall during the 2022 season, Union University’s women’s soccer team seeks to improve in Josh Alford‘s second season as head coach. Alford has a whole new staff to assist him this year. Mercedes Padilla, who comes to Union after serving one season as the assistant coach at Huntingdon College, will serve as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Chris Baker, the current head coach at Trinity Christian Academy, will be a volunteer assistant specifically assigned to the goalkeepers. Union’s first conference matchup comes on the road against Christian Brothers on Sep. 15, and the team’s first GSC home game will be Sep. 22 when they face Delta State.

Amanda Carr (Smyrna, Tenn.), Rebekah Jackson (McMinnville, Tenn.), Amelia Goehring (Jackson, Tenn.), Lucia Revuelto (Madrid, Spain), Ashley Macedo (Maricopa, Ariz.), Bethany Guinness (Nashville, Tenn.), Avery Caldwell (Little Rock, Ark.), Brooklyn Robbins (Memphis, Tenn.), Irene Arias (Barruelo de Santullan), Tessa Erzen (Des Moines, Iowa), and Fara Perez (Ourense, Spain) will join Union this fall.
Union University volleyball signings
JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University volleyball team announced its signing class for the 2023 season. Hope Harrington (Spokane, Wash.), Ashley Pruitt (Memphis, Tenn.), Cortlynn Rose (Lawrenceburg, Tenn.), Dylan Tolliver (Franklin, Tenn.), Jordan Moore (Atoka, Tenn.), and Vanja Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) join Union this fall.
