Jackson, Tennessee – West Tennessee Healthcare is pleased to announce that Resilient West TN, a program of Jackson Madison County General Hospital, is a recipient of an ACEs Innovation Grant of the TN Department of Children’s Services.
According to a press release from Amy Garner Chief Compliance & Communications Officer – West Tennessee Healthcare – Emily Sain will lead the program by providing classes to spread awareness of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), Resilience, and PCEs (Positive childhood experiences).
ACEs are traumatic events in childhood that affect a child’s brain, these are likely to have mental and physical effects when they become an adult. Resilient and PCEs counterbalance ACEs to mitigate the effects.
