When the University School of Jackson opens its 2023 football season, there will be several new faces in new places.
There’s a new head football coach – Derrick Pritchard – and two starters return on offense and three on defense.
Coaches quote –
“Practice has been great,” Derrick said, “The kids have bought into the culture, and we have a good senior group of 10 seniors – a small number, but impactful.
“Our goal is to get better, every day,” Derrick said, “If we do that, we’ll be better at the end of the season. We’ll be where we need to be.”
USJ continues its tune up for the 2023 season when the Bruins host Milan for a jamboree at Carlock Stadium at Kirkland Field, Friday.
Fifth and sixth grade – 6 p.m.
Middle School – 6:35 p.m.
Freshman/JV – 7 p.m.
Varsity – 7:45 p.m.
