JACKSON, Tennessee – The Jackson Rockabillys fell to the Chillicothe (Ohio) Paints, 12-3, in the first of a two-game series before an announced crowd of 1,359 at V.A. Memorial Stadium, Wednesday.
Designated hitter Brett Blankenship and right fielder Michael Bell accounted for Jackson’s runs.
Blankenship (3-for-3) delivered an RBI single in the top of the first inning, and Bell produced a two-run home run in the top of the third to round out Jackson’s scoring.
Chance Arender started for the Rockabillys and threw five innings of three-run, nine-hit ball.
JD Klug, who allowed four runs in two innings of work, suffered the loss.
The Rockabillys and Paints resume their two-game series at 7 p.m., today.
The Rockabillys return home Monday, July 31, to face the Cape Catfish in the final Military Monday of the season.
All active and retired members of the military will be honored with a $1 admission, and there will also be a salute to season ticket holders and player host families.
