Commercial property on Ridgecrest Road sells for $1 million

Construction on a new KFC, 2978 Ridgecrest Road is complete, an opening date has not been announced, but the property off Dr. F.E. Wright Drive, has been sold.

Ali Nazar Abdulmajeed purchased the property from BC Partners North for $1,000,000.

When the 2,400 square foot facility opens, it will offer a drive thru and seating for approximately 40 customers.

Dunkin’ sets opening date for restaurant on South Highland Avenue

According to management, Dunkin’ – or Dunkin’ Donuts – 1560 South Highland Ave., is scheduled to open at 5 a.m., Tuesday, August 1.

The restaurant will occupy a facility once home to Hardee’s, which closed in October 2021.

Seating is available for 18 guests, and business hours are 5 a.m. – 9 p.m., seven days a week.

A third Dunkin’ is in the plans for Jackson.

When constructed, a 2,000-square-foot facility will be located at 2757 North Highland Avenue on approximately one acre of land, next door to Grease Monkey.

Dunkin’ is also located at 5 Stonebridge Boulevard.

Georgia Pacific hosting second job fair for careers with Dixie Jackson, today

Jackson, Tennessee – Dixie Jackson, a key brand of the Georgia-Pacific and Koch Industries’ group of companies, is excited to announce its second job fair, today (July 22).

The first job fair was held Thursday, July 20.

According to a press release from Mykenzy Norman – Social Media & Events Manager – B3 Creative Agency – these events aim to recruit local talent for several roles at the new Dixie plant coming to Jackson in 2024.

“The Dixie Jackson plant will offer rewarding careers,” saidl Mike Cook, plant director, “We are confident in the talent pool in Jackson and surrounding areas, and we look forward to meeting individuals ready to contribute to Dixie’s future.”

The job fair today is scheduled at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, 2468 Technology Center Dr., Jackson, TN –

Old Country Store bringing drive-thru services to Casey Jones Village, relocates Wellwood Store

Jackson, Tennessee – Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store in the Casey Jones Village relocated the Wellwood Store, marking the beginning of the initial phase of construction on the restaurant’s new drive-thru service for guests, which is scheduled to open in late 2023.

“We’ve been discussing this for more than five years and officially in the planning phases for a little more than a year now,” said Brooks Shaw, Old Country Store General Manager, “It was something my dad, Clark, and I discussed many times, but we didn’t want to pull the trigger until we were confident in our plan to serve Guests quickly.”

According to a press release from Tajuana Cheshier – The Bramblett Group – the drive-thru will be located on the northside of the building, off the Dixie Cafe, and will include two service windows in the building’s expanded north end. There will be a new front entrance for the Guests visiting Dixie Cafe.

The Wellwood Store was relocated to the south end of the restaurant.

With site work plans approved by the City of Jackson, the expansion represents a million-dollar investment in facilities and jobs, the largest since they opened their newly constructed 4,000-square-foot kitchen in 2017.
