The 26th Judicial District Drug Task Force (DTF), with assistance from its law enforcement partners at the Henderson Police Department, Chester County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jackson Police Department, teamed up to make a significant Fentanyl seizure early on the morning of July 12, 2023.
The 26th DTF seized nearly 1,300 Fentanyl pills, various other illegal narcotics, and firearms during the execution of an early morning search warrant in Henderson. The pills containing Fentanyl were configured to make a user believe that they were a legally manufactured controlled substance. No further information will be released at this time.
The seizure of Illegal fentanyl is a priority for the 26th Judicial DTF due to the high possibility of overdose and death. Illegal fentanyl manufacturers have no way to control the potency of the pills during production which can and does cause death on a regular basis in our communities. Citizens are urged to refrain from using any controlled substance not legally obtained via a prescription from an authorized medical professional.
The 26th Judicial District Drug Task Force is a collaborative effort. The Task Force is made up of officers and Deputies from the Lexington Police Department, Jackson Police Department, Chester County Sheriffs Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson Police Department and the 26th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The 26th Judicial DTF was reconstituted in late 2022 after a 25-year hiatus, by District Attorney General Jody Pickens along with the Chiefs and Sheriffs in the 26th Judicial District.
The mission of the 26th Judicial District Drug Task Force is to investigate, interdict arrest by working closely with the 26th Judicial District Attorney’s Office to charge those responsible for illegal drug distribution.
