Former Trinity Christian Academy baseball star Lane Forsythe has announced he will transfer to Oklahoma State University for his senior season.
Forsythe, a member of the 2021 NCAA Champion Mississippi State University Bulldogs, who entered the transfer portal May 30, made his announcement on his Twitter account.
“Excited to announce that I am going to play my last year at Oklahoma State University.”
During his junior year (2023) Forsythe started in 36 of the 38 games he played.
He had a .248 batting average, collecting 27 hits in 109 at bats, which included two home runs and six doubles.
2021 (Freshman Season)
Awards:Â College World Series All-Tournament Team
Season: Started 58 games as shortstop. Appeared at the plate 186 times, earning a batting average of (.231 for the season with an on-base percentage of .321. Collected 30 runs on 43 hits while gaining 21 RBIs. Received the second highest on the team in most assists (119). Second most highest in fielding double plays (24). Collected career record in assists (6) vs. Missouri (5/15).
2022 Sophomore Season
Season:Â Appeared in 48 games, starting 36 at shortstop. Accumulated a .273 batting average on 30 hits. Drove in 12 RBIs, drew 15 walks, and stole four bases. Also appeared in relief on the mound three times.
Trinity Christian Academy
Lettered four times for head coach Jeremy Maddox at Trinity Christian Academy. Selected team MVP as a sophomore and junior. Garnered Perfect Game Preseason All-American high honorable mention as a senior. Tabbed Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American high honorable mention as a junior. Helped TCA to a Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association Division 2-1A state runner up finish as a junior.
