WENGEN, Switzerland (AP) — Henrik Kristoffersen led the first run of a World Cup slalom on Sunday, aiming to give Norway a three-win weekend sweep.
Kristoffersen, who has won three of four slaloms this season, was .16 second faster than Italian Guiliano Razzoli, the 2010 Olympic champion who excels on this type of flat course.
Felix Neureuther of Germany, a two-time Wengen winner, was third-fastest, .35 behind Kristoffersen’s 47.89 mark.
Marcel Hirscher of Austria was 10th, with .74 to make up in the afternoon second run.
Hirscher needs a top-15 finish to retake the overall World Cup standings lead from Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, who won Saturday’s downhill.
The race is being run on lower sections of the downhill course rather than the adjoining slalom hill due to recent warm weather.
