Chloe Brasfield, Trace Robinson receive academic scholarships from Jackson Old Hickory Rotary Club

The Jackson Old Hickory Rotary Club presented high school seniors Chloe Brasfield and Trace Robinson with $3,000 each in academic scholarships during its weekly meeting.

Chloe Brasfield, Jackson Christian School, will attend the University of Memphis Lambuth, and study to become a nurse practitioner.

Trace Robinson, Trinity Christian School, will attend Union University, but is undecided on his major.

“This is very exciting – I’m very grateful, very appreciative,” Chloe said, “It’s a lot of money, and it will help me with the financial aspects of college … it’s going to aid me and help me through school.”

Mike Nichols, a board member with the Jackson Old Hickory Rotary Club, said the scholarship funds drew a considerable amount of interest.

“We had about 25 students who submitted applications, and we selected Chloe and Trace,” Mike said, “They are excellent selections. The scholarships are in memory of Mike Powers, an educator, and continue to be an ongoing tradition.”
