The Jackson Police Department Major Crimes Unit conducted an underage alcohol operation March 29, 2023, and one clerk at Hays Food Express, 405 North Hays Ave., sold to an informant who was trying to purchase beer illegally.
Store owner Nasar Amsam appeared before the Jackson Beer Board for a show cause hearing and the at Jackson City Hall, Tuesday.
The beer permit for 405 North Hays Avenue has been suspended indefinitely.
There were two previous sales at the store – Dec. 18, 2015, and June 26, 2018 – to an underage informant.
