The Jackson Elks Lodge No. 192, has named its ‘Teenager of the Year’ for 2022-2023.
The recipient is Ava Marie Cox, 18, a senior at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School.
Ava Marie, who plans on attending Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., was awarded the honor from countywide submissions – counselors and advisors.
Ms. Cox, an excellent student, has been active at Sacred Heart, serving as student president, Beta Club vice president and captain of the girls’ soccer team.
She is also a Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce graduate of Leadership University.
Her hobbies are theater, volunteering, working out and art.
The Jackson Elks No. 192 have been a part of the Jackson community since 1891.
With a concentration on community, the fraternal organization has 268 members – and growing.
