DCS employee arrested for solicitation of a minor

An effort by Bolivar Police and the Jackson Police Department has resulted in the arrest of an employee of the Department of Children Services on charges of Solicitation of a Minor.

On March 2, a juvenile female found a note on her vehicle. Her parents reported the contents to the Bolivar Police Department. Officers then contacted the Jackson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which deals with all types of potential child exploitation.

During an undercover operation on March 7, the suspect met with someone whom he believed to be an underage girl with the intention of having sex with her at a location in Jackson.

As a result, 50-year-old Christopher Baker, an employee of the Department of Children’s Services who has since been fired, was arrested. The investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone with information on this case or any case of child exploitation is asked to contact Sgt. Aubrey Richardson of the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at 731-467-6385.
