Illegal dumping of dead animal parts in dumpsters

On Saturday, February 18th, at around 1 p.m., Haywood Sheriff’s deputies received a call regarding a large number of cow heads found in a Solid Waste dumpster on Highway 54 West, near Thomas Road.

Deputies spoke with a nearby resident that reported that he heard dumping noises coming from the dumpster around 2 a.m., on Feb. 18.

The cow heads appear to be a Charolaise mix, each had tags in their ears and tongues cut out.

The heads appeared to be severed with a chainsaw, it was a total of 8 cow heads.

If anyone has any information regarding this illegal dumping of animal parts in the garbage dumpsters, and/or theft of cattle, please contact the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office at 731-772-6158.
