(Jackson, TN) Southwest Tennessee Development District announced the hiring of Jill Holland as its Local Government & Special Projects Coordinator.
According to a press release from Debbie Dunaway – SWTDD Public Information Officer/Executive Assistant – Mayor of McKenzie (2010-2022), McKenzie City Council (2004-2010), and McKenzie Special School District Board (1998-2006), Holland’s experience in government and education uniquely qualifies her to step into this role connecting local elected officials and their staffs to programs and services of SWTDD.
“Jill’s extensive leadership experience positions her to quickly become an effective bridge between our economic and community development team and the elected officials in SWTDD’s eight county region,” said Joe W. Barker, SWTDD Executive Director. “There are a lot of exciting things happening in West Tennessee and we want to make sure that every town and city in our region is in the best position possible to benefit from the transformational growth happening now and in the coming decades.”
As a former West Tennessee mayor and former board member of such organizations as the Tennessee Municipal League, WestStar Leadership Program, TACIR, MTAS, Northwest Tennessee Development District, and the Governor’s Rural Task Force Committee, Jill has first-hand knowledge of programs coming down through state and federal sources and she is able to assist, inform, and help our mayors implement the programs that will best benefit their communities.
