From the Jackson Police Department –
Investigators with the Jackson Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a newborn baby located in a dumpster in the area of 33 Carver Avenue.
At approximately 4:15 a.m., on January 19, officers with the JPD were dispatched to the area of 33 Carver Avenue in reference to a newborn baby that was located in a nearby dumpster.
The JPD along with personnel from the Jackson Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and assisted in providing life-saving medical care.
Jackson Police are grateful the newborn baby is still alive and continues to receive medical treatment.
Jackson Police, in partnership with the Department of Children’s Services continue to investigate this disturbing incident.
Jackson Police Investigators have also identified the mother of this newborn baby.
