Murder suspect surrenders to U.S. Marshals in Murfreesboro

Memphis, Tennessee – Joseph Henry Keohavong, 18, of Murfreesboro, who was wanted by the Memphis Police Department for First Degree Murder and three counts of Criminal Attempt First Degree Murder surrendered to the U.S. Marshals today.

The U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee, Tyreece Miller, made the announcement today.

On October 30, 2022, Memphis police responded to a quadruple shooting in the 3900 Block of Park Avenue. One victim was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital and the three others injured. Witnesses identified five armed men who were in a red Dodge Durango during the incident.

On November 4, 2022, an arrest warrant for Keohavong was issued out of Shelby County General Sessions. The next day the Memphis Police Homicide Bureau requested the assistance from the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Memphis to locate and apprehend Keohavong.

The TRVFTF developed information that Keohavong was in the Nashville area and requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals in the Middle District of Tennessee Nashville office. The Middle District Task Force was in contact with Keohavong, and they were able to convince Keohavong to turn himself in.

This afternoon, Keohavong surrendered to authorities at the Murfreesboro Police Department without incident.
