JACKSON Tenn – The Jackson Police Department continues with efforts of implementing body cameras. Over the next several weeks, select officers of the department will wear body cameras provided by Taser.Â
According to Jackson police spokesperson Sgt Derick Tisdale,  the cameras are still a few months away, but these are some of the final steps of getting the cameras in the field. Officers will have to test them for things like weight, bulkiness, and operation.  Tisdale said it is a decision the department is not taking lightly.
The officers using the cameras will provide necessary feedback which the department will use in making its final decision.
