To receive the Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital has demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry for two consecutive years (2020 and 2021), and performed at the highest level for specific performance measures. Hospitals and health systems that have earned an ACC HeartCARE Center designation have met a set of criteria, including participating in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, NCDR registries and targeted quality improvement campaigns, such as Patient Navigator Program: Focus MI, that are designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care. Jackson-Madison County General Hospital was previously awarded Chest Pain Center with PCI Accreditation, and Transcatheter Valve Certification by ACC Accreditation Services. Jackson-Madison County General Hospital also participates in the CathPCI Registry, EP Device Implant Registry, LAAO Registry, and STS/ACC TVT Registry.

Treatment guidelines include administering aspirin upon arrival and discharge, timely restoration of blood flow to the blocked artery, smoking cessation counseling and cardiac rehabilitation, among others.
“It is, once again, an honor to receive this level of recognition from the American College of Cardiology,” said Deann Thelen, CEO of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. “This award is a testament to the close collaboration and active involvement of a highly skilled healthcare team to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients in this region. This is proof that our hospital is one of the highest performing hospitals in the country, and it is important for the community to know that patients can receive the highest quality heart care right here in Jackson, Tennessee without having to drive to a larger city.”
