Tracy Boyd receives 4 year probation following guilty plea on multiple charges

Tracy Dijuan Boyd has been released from jail at the Criminal Justice Complex, and placed on four years probation after entering a guilty plea on multiple charges Monday, which included Impersonation of a Licensed Professional, Falsely Representing Self as a Lawyer and Practicing Law Without a License, Theft of Property, Forgery, Criminal Simulation and Theft of Property, is being held at the Criminal Justice Complex after he committed the offense of Simple Possession of Schedule IV, Driving on a Revoked/Suspended Driver’s Licenses – Prior Offender and Speeding.

As part of his probation, Boyd, a local BLM activist, must pay court costs, fines and restitution totaling $8,400 – which includes $600 to Jeremy Moten, $1,200 to Marcus Lipham and $2,741 to Tennessee Correctional Services.

Failure to pay restitution – or any new charges – can result in a violation of his probation.

Boyd had been jailed because if a defendant is released on bond and “is charged with an offense committed during the defendant’s release … then the court may revoke and terminate the defendant’s bond.”

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol – On Sunday, August 14, Mr. Boyd was stopped for speeding 93 mph in a 70 mph zone. There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a search was completed approximately 2.5 grams of marijuana was found in the center console of the vehicle and Mr. Boyd claimed it was his. He was charged with simple possession of Schedule VI.

Mr. Boyd claimed it was CBD but was caught on (the) back seat video stating it was ‘weed’ and that he would just claim it was CBD (Cannabidiol (CBD) is an active ingredient in cannabis that is derived from the hemp plant).

In the report the THP Trooper wrote he initiated a traffic stop on a gray Nissan Maxima for speeding 93 mph in a 70 mph zone. Upon running the driver’s license, it came back with a suspended status for failure to pay fines/cost in Crockett County on 6-3-22. Mr. Boyd was arrested for driving while suspended 2nd offense, Previous offense was on 5-15-19 in Madison County.
