The Jackson Energy Authority’s board of directors reviewed – and approved – six items of business during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.
Training on pension and employee benefits was discussed by Jeremy Hall of R.W. Baird.
“Jackson Energy Authority’s board met today to discuss several items of business related to system purchases and improvements along with some operational procedures,” Monte Jones said, “All items were approved.”
Monte Jones is the chairman of the Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority.
“The board also received training on pension and other employee benefits from its consultant,” Monte said, “Additionally, the board welcomed a new senior staff member Lara Coleman who will fill the Electric Division senior vice president role along with Hameen Harris in his new role as Vice President of Engineering.
“Both staff members have tenures with JEA and will be strong members of the management team.”
The Board of Directors –
- Authorized the purchase of 34 galvanized steel transmission poles – Stuart C. Irby, Jackson, submitted a low bid $211,800
- Approved the purchase of 16,500 feet of 954 AL overhead conductor – Graybar submitted a $75,491.96. There were two lower bids, but Graybar was accepted due to lead times – 20 weeks, compared to 76 weeks and 42-44 weeks
- Authorized a contract for the South Fork Wastewater Interceptor Rehab Project – Kajacs Contractors, Inc., Poplar Bluff, Mo., submitted the low bid of $4,275,136.50
- Designated Jackson Energy Authority’s authorized representative to AND director of the Tennergy Corporations
- Approved a resolution affirming JEA’s Identify Theft Prevention Policy and included procedures to comply with revisions of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act
- Authorized banking services.
