Jackson, TN – Two Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) employees have been promoted to new positions within the company.

Monte Cooper, Jackson Energy Authority’s Chief Operating Officer stated, “I am pleased to announce the following changes effective October 24, 2022.”

Lara Coleman has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, Electric Division. Lara, who began her career as an Industrial Services Engineer, has worked for Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) for 25 years.

Lara currently serves as VP of Engineering and most recently served in the role of VP of Engineering and Operations.

Additionally, Lara has served as VP of Distribution, Sr. Manager of Stores & Transportation, Systems Planning Engineer, Telecom System Engineer and Electric Project Engineering. She earned a MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Tennessee.

Hameen Harris has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Engineering. Hameen currently serves as JEA’s Electric System Engineer, a role he has excelled in since 2007.

Hameen began his career at JEA as a Project Engineer in 1999 after service as an Engineering Co-op to the Automation Engineer and Systems Engineer with MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri.

Hameen graduated from Tuskegee University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and earned his MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin in August, 2010. Hameen is also a registered professional engineer in the State of Tennessee.
