Frank Brasher – retired auto dealership owner – passes away; services today

Edgar Frank Brasher, age 76, of Cedar Grove, TN, passed away in the early hours of October 15, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was born and raised in Decaturville, TN, the son of the late Walter “Jub” and Mary Ruth Brasher.

Those he grew up with knew him as “Duke.” After graduating high school, Frank joined the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. Because of his thick, southern accent, his Air Force friends (mostly from the northern states), lovingly nicknamed him “Gomer Pyle.”

After his time in the service, he moved to Jackson, TN, where many met Frank through his ownership of Frank Brasher, Buick-Pontiac-GMC car dealership in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ray Cole “Mutt” Brasher, and his sister, Nancy Brasher.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brasher; sons, Jamie Brasher and Sam Brasher; brother, Walter “Nig” Brasher, and grandchildren, Ethan Brasher, Gracie Brasher, Skylar Brasher, and Destiny Baskin.

Frank Brasher was an extraordinary human being. He was a loving husband, caring father, doting grandfather, a loyal brother, and a steadfast friend. Many lives were made much better by having known him. He will be greatly missed every day.

SERVICES: The family will be having a Celebration of Life visitation Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., at Arrington Funeral Directors. Family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well lived!
