The Union University men’s golf team posted a fourth-place finish at the Arkansas Collegiate Tournament hosted by Southern Arkansas University. The 3-round event was played at the Mystic Creek Golf Club and featured 12 teams with 73 golfers.
Sophomore JJ Zimmer finished second with a 3-round total of 218 (+2). She shot a 72 and 75 in the two rounds Monday and then fired a 71 in the final round Tuesday. Henderson State’s Nathan Cossement was the only golfer under par in the event, a 213 (-3) for the win.
In addition to Zimmer, Union’s Gray Campbell posted a very respectable 11th place finish with a 228 (75, 73, 80). Jackson Hughey finished T27 with a 237 (81, 83, 73), Timothy Pinkston T44 with a 243 (85, 77, 81), and Blake Wolfe T55 with a 247 (81, 85, 81). Union’s Kip Patterson played as an individual and finished T30 with a 238 (81, 79, 78).
Up next will be the West Georgia Invitational, October 24-25 in Carrollton, Georgia.
