Amanda Smith received her high school education at Madison Academic High School, but she was in a giving mood Tuesday.

A 2022 Madison graduate, and Girl Scout for 12 years, unveiled a 12-foot iron mustang on the campus at 575 Lambuth Boulevard.

The mustang is Madison’s mascot, and the gift helped Amanda complete a project for her Girl Scout Gold Award, which is equivalent to the Boy Scout Eagle Award.

The number of hours Amanda designed and constructed the project was unknown, but the purpose is for beautification and to promote “Arts in Education.”
