Firefighter Daniel Beck of the Madison County Fire Department has received the honor of ‘Firefighter of the Year,’ from the Jackson Exchange Club.
The award was presented during the Exchange Club’s weekly meeting, which is held each Tuesday at the Doubletree by Hilton in Jackson.
Beck joined the department in 2017 and is a member of the Special Operations Team.
He holds numerous certifications in Hazardous Materials Operations, Swift water rescue among others.
Beck volunteers his time to provide training and mentoring to fellow firefighters and keeps up his own training on a consistent basis.
Firefighter Beck, who enjoys farming part-time, is the son of Bobby and Cheryl Beck and is married to Carah-Beth Maddux Beck of Alamo.
The Exchange Club alternates its annual award honoring a firefighter from the Jackson Fire Department and a Madison County Firefighter each year.
