JACKSON Tenn – Acting on information from family and evidence police believed a victim may have committed suicide.

Around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon Jackson Police along with Jackson and Madison County Fire Department officials responded to a call of a possible suicide at Muse Park Lake in east Jackson.

Madison County Fire Chief Eric Turner said his department received a call from Jackson Fire Department regarding assistance in searching for a possible body

Jackson Police Public Information Officer Derick Tisdale said the police had information and evidence that indicated a person may have drowned.  Personal belongings of a possible victim were found at the scene and family members were expressing concerns about the subjects well-being.

After three hours of dragging the lake as well as searching with special equipped boats the rescuers turned up no further evidence.  The search was called off.

Sgt Tisdale said investigators will go back and look at the information they have to try to determine the whereabouts of the person.
