Memphis, Tenn. – Shaniqua Yates, 25, was arrested for Aggravated Arson by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team, U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announced.
On September 14, 2022, a fire was deliberately set and destroyed an apartment complex at 6355 Arbor Creek Trail in Memphis, Tennessee. An arrest warrant was issued for Shaniqua Yates. The fugitive investigation was adopted by the U.S. Marshals.
Just after midnight on September 18, the U.S. Marshals and the Shelby County FAT located Yates at a residence in the 8400 block of Rhiannon in Memphis. She was taken into custody without incident.
“It is a blessing that no one was injured in this fire,” said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. “There are reports that more than 20 residents were displaced by this senseless act. We hope this swift arrest can help to alleviate the turmoil that has been inflicted on the victims.”
