MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. (September 30, 2015) – United States Honor Flag announced it will be re-routed from its trip home in Fort Worth, Texas, to Crockett County West Tennessee.
The flag was in Florida honoring fallen officer, Deputy Bill Myers, when the organization learned about Madison County Deputy Rosemary Vela.
This flag has been flown over Ground Zero, the Pentagon and state and national memorials to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our communities and country.
The flag will be held in Crockett County. The flag is under 24-hour guard during its travel.
Rosemary Vela is survived by her 5-year-old son, mother, father, sister and brother, Mapes said. A memorial fund has been set up in her name at the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The U.S. Honor Flag, travels around the country honoring officers killed in the line of duty.
