From the Jackson Police Department –
Jackson Police arrest eighteen-year-old Tommy Taylor and a juvenile in the recent homicide of Cameron Pirtle.
On August 31, 2022 at 1:20 P.M., officers with the Jackson Police Department were notified of a gunshot victim in the Emergency Room of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Cameron Pirtle, suffered gunshot wounds and died because of his injuries.
With the assistance of the community, officers were able to locate the crime scene located on Courtney Cove.
Investigators found evidence on the scene that led to the suspect’s residence located on Rivers Street.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined a robbery had taken place before Mr. Pirtle was shot.
Tommy Taylor and a male juvenile were taken into custody for the murder and robbery of Cameron Pirtle.
Tommy Taylor and the Juvenile male suspect have both been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of Especially Aggravated Robbery, First Degree Murder, and Felony Murder.
