MADISON COUNTY, Tenn– In a ceremony held at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Headquarters, Lieutenant Cleven Davis, Madison Co. Sheriff’s Office was among a dozen law enforcement leaders from across the state to graduate from the 2015 TBI Leadership Academy .
Founded in 2014, the selective two-week academy provides senior law enforcement from across Tennessee leadership training from world-renowned speakers on topics including crisis management, presentation skills, proactive leadership strategies, and diversity in law enforcement. The TBI offers the training at no cost to participants or their departments.
Lieutenant Cleven Davis began his law enforcement career with the Humboldt Police Department in April 1985. In December 1997 he began his career with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department in the patrol division. In 1999 Lieutenant Davis was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and in 2002 he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. In September, 2003, Lieutenant Davis was selected to attend the school of Police Staff and Command at the Center for Public Safety of Northwestern University in Nashville, TN. In April, 2009, he was transferred from supervisor of patrol to the Criminal Investigation Division, were he is the supervisor over Property Crime.
Lieutenant Davis also served in the Tennessee Army National Guard where he served one year in Iraq before retirement from his military service. In July 2009, he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Criminal Justice from the University of Everest in Arizona.
“It is a great privilege for the TBI to provide the necessary tools to enhance leadership skills for law enforcement in the state of Tennessee,” said TBI Director Mark Gwyn. “I feel strongly that the success of any agency is dependent upon strong leadership.”
