JACKSON, TENNESSEE – RIFA’s annual food drive event, Pack the Bus, at each Kroger and Walmart location in Jackson from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 20.
According to a press release from Roshni Patel – Adelsberger Marketing – Pack the Bus works in conjunction with Snack Backpack, one of RIFA’s ministries, to collect food donations for area children.
RIFA’s Snack Backpack ministry provides kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare, nutritious food to school-aged children who have little to no food over the weekends. RIFA provides Snack Backpacks to over 1,300 children at 13 elementary schools each week during the school year.
Each Snack Backpack provides a child with six meals and two snacks.

Saturday, participants will be able to bring food to a school bus parked outside each grocery store and watch their donations pack the bus.
“This event allows all of us to invest in the children of our community. Childhood hunger is real and we want to do everything we can to combat the problem.” said Lisa Tillman, RIFA executive director, “These donations can truly make a difference in a child’s life.”
