JACKSON, Tennessee – On August 2, 2022, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task
Force captured Christopher Hines, 19, who was indicted on a First Degree Murder charge for an April homicide in Jackson.
On April 9, 2022, the Jackson Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of East Deaderick Street near North Hays Avenue.
Officers found the victim, Charles Tyus, Jr. 19, with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead.
The investigation by Jackson police determined that Christopher Hines was responsible for this crime. The case was presented to the Madison County Grand Jury who returned an indictment for First Degree Murder.
The U.S. Marshals were asked to assist in locating and apprehending Hines.
On April 2, the Two Rivers Task Force arrested Hines at a residence in the 100 block of Taylor Street in Jackson. Hines was transported to the Madison County Jail.
