The home owned by Edward Fuller at 16 Clark Cove became more energy efficient after he participated in a program offered by Jackson Energy Authority and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
“We certainly appreciate Mr. Fuller for his trust and signing up for this program,” said Ted Austin, Jackson Energy Authority, “The homeowner’s program is intent to help homeowners who qualify for the program … actually, get upgrades for the installation, the sealing of their homes.”
Customers interested in ‘Home Uplift’ can call 1-888-986-7662. Each home must get a Home Energy Evaluation, and if the application is approved by TVA EnergyRight, customers are eligible to receive a average of $10,000 in free home energy upgrades from Quality Contractor Network members vetted by their local LPC and TVA.
Home energy upgrades available include air sealing, appliance replacements, attic insulation/repair, duct replacement/repair, electric water heater replacement, LED bulbs and low-flow shower heads, refrigerator replacement, wall insulation and windows and doors.
Jim Ferrell, CEO, Jackson Energy Authority described the work performed on Mr. Fuller’s home.
“They did an upgrade to his hot water heater (and) also did a lot of sealing on his duct work,” Ferrell said, “There were a lot of leaks … general sealing on the house, itself, so it’s a lot tighter.”
