Christie Trial Reset, New Prosecutor Requests Additional Time

JACKSON Tenn ( September 22, 2015) – The man accused of killing his wife in December of 2013 was supposed to have a motions hearing but that date has been pushed back for a second time.

A hearing for John Christie has been reset for Oct. 6 after the prosecuting attorney, Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Haggerman, requested requested more time to prepare for a trial.

Judge Don Allen said he plans to address the motions that have been filed, and reset a trial date  at the October 6 hearing.

Christie was originally scheduled for trial on Sept. 29.  Allen said he hopes to have the trial rescheduled for this year.

Christie is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his estranged wife Brittany Christie in December 2013.
