For more than 20 years, the youth of Northside Church, 2571 N. Highland Ave., have presented dramatic worship experiences to communicate to our church and community the message God was laying on our hearts for that specific time and season.
“We’ve written stories and songs and prayers and we’ve created paintings and sets and dances, as we’ve acted and sang and played in the band,” said Glenn Miller, Northside Church director of Student Ministries, “Some years seemed large, some years seemed smaller, but every year God spoke powerfully as memories were made, seeds were sown, and lives were changed.”
In 2019, we presented a musical entitled Lockdown, never dreaming that for the next two years we would truly be “locked down”. For two years, we have been unable to express our hearts – the musicals written for 2020 and 2021 are locked in a filing cabinet. But now, we invite you to our revival anthem. We are ready, again, to tell what God has been saying to us in this time apart, the profound message of a God of hope and forgiveness and redemption.
In the midst of a world torn apart by war and division, our story unfolds on the frontier in the year 1870. Though vastly different from our modern lives in many ways, New Hope, a small outpost town, is still strangely familiar as we explore forgiveness, regret, new beginnings, and spiritual struggle. The message of Wanted! is timeless and relevant today for us, a people also needing to be reminded that there is a God of power and redemption and hope, and that though the enemy wants us for evil, God wants us for good.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19
