JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department is pleased to announce The WIC Center, located at 589 East College Street, is now open for in-person services.
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services have been available by phone since Mar. 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WIC certification must be done in-person effective April 11, 2022. Some WIC benefits will be issued electronically. Curbside service will be available if necessary.
“We’re excited to begin offering in-person services again and eager to see our WIC participants,” Bonita Webster, RD said.
WIC provides supplemental food, nutrition education, and health care referrals for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five.
