‘A very extensive meeting’ – Jackson City Council holds monthly meeting

Proclamations, First Readings and Second Readings and new business highlighted the Jackson City Council’s monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Tuesday.

Proclamations included ‘Child Abuse Prevention Month,’ and National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, which will be held April 10-16.

A Proposed Budget Amendment for professional services for Great Wolf Lodge was approved for $300,000.

New business included the consideration of a preliminary proposal for the Triangle Proposal for property located at the intersection of West Lafayette Street and West Main Street for a new hotel.

Also, a contract with Kinfolk Food, LLC was approved for the operation of a grill/restaurant at the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market.

The consideration of Memorandum of Understanding between Madison County Equity and the City of Jackson – Jackson Boxing Club – was also approved.

A very extensive meeting today … a good productive meeting … a lot of exciting things happening in our City,” said Ross Priddy, District 5 Councilman, “Look at what the Jackson Equity project is doing with the (Jackson) Boxing Club (and ) a great benefit to our city – Great Wolf Lodge – we’re making progress there.”

Priddy also mentioned a report and recommendation from the Jackson City attorney regarding anonymous ethics complaints.
