JACKSON Tenn (August 25, 2015) – The man police say was responsible for the second of two bomb threats on August 17th made his first court appearance.
Marcel G. Cox is accused of calling his former employer, Portfolio Recovery Associates, with a bomb threat. Cox said he had been fired and wanted to speak with the company Vice President.
Cox said there was a bomb placed inside a recently replaced air conditioner unit and he “had a finger on the button,” according to court documents.
The business was evacuated, first responders found no threat.
Employees were played the recorded phone call and told police that the voice was Cox’s. According to court documents, Cox was recently fired for threatening to assault employees.
