From the Jackson Police Department –

On Wednesday January 18th, 2022 around 3 p.m., a 21-year-old male, Jamarcus Holliday, was brought to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Holliday later succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim was transported to JMCGH hospital in a private vehicle by his friends who witnessed the shooting. The victim had been shot near his home on Pueblo Cove during a fight.

A person of interest was located and was in custody within hours of the shooting. The investigation is still on going and further details will be released when available. The victim will be sent for autopsy. The police are not searching for any additional suspects.
