From the Jackson Police Department –

The Jackson Police Department is investigating a late morning shooting that occurred near 112 Lincoln Circle.

At approximately 11 a.m., December 14, officers of the JPD received a ShotSpotter alert and multiple calls of a shooting near 112 Lincoln Circle.

Responding officers arrived on the scene locating a black male suffering from an apparent gunshot(s).

The gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services with serious injuries.

Based upon a preliminary investigation, Jackson Police do NOT believe this was a random act of violence. This investigation is active and ongoing.
