U.S. Department of Transportation asking for public comment concerning Boutique Air

Jackson, TENNESSEE – Steve Smith, Executive Director of the Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority, has received a request from the U.S. Department of Transportation regarding Boutique Air.

The D.O.T. is asking for public comment from any consumer who received unsatisfactory service of any kind from the service, as well as from consumers who have not received refunds from canceled flights.

This is the latest development in the airport’s move to request Boutique Air withdraw from the Jackson market. In addition to the Jackson-Madison County Airport Authority’s formal requests to Boutique Air and the D.O.T., public complaints are an important part of the process.

The complaint form can be found on the McKellar Sipes Facebook page as well as their website www.flyjackson.com

In a previous statement, Smith said, “It has become obvious that Boutique Air’s expansion from the West Coast into the Southeast during the pandemic, worker shortages, and air travel restrictions just hasn’t worked out. It was the perfect storm.” Smith said, “Our focus is on providing air travelers with exceptional service at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport. Anything less is unacceptable.”
