The Jackson Police Department has identified a 6-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run, Tuesday night.

The driver of the vehicle who struck the child has also been identified. This is an ongoing investigation at this time.

The Jackson Police Department would like to thank the community for assisting with this investigation.

The Jackson Police Department responded to a call of a hit-and-run accident that occurred around 8:50 p.m., Tuesday, at the intersection of Forest Avenue at Prospect Avenue.

A dark colored Chevy SUV was described as the suspect vehicle.
